South Queensferry is the deep-water cruise terminal for Edinburgh, opened in 2022 and now the standard call for most ocean cruise lines. It sits beneath the three Forth bridges, about 25 minutes by shuttle from Edinburgh's Old Town. From here, the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and the volcanic outcrop of Arthur's Seat are all walkable from the city drop-off. Stirling Castle and the Outlander locations are an hour west.
