Invergordon is the deep-water cruise port for the Scottish Highlands, on the Cromarty Firth about 35 minutes north of Inverness. From the pier, you walk straight onto the dock — no tender required. It is the closest cruise port to Loch Ness (under an hour by road), Cawdor Castle, the Culloden battlefield, and the Outlander filming sites at Clava Cairns. Glencoe and the Skyfall ridge are a longer day trip (3 hours each way) but doable.
