Greenock is the cruise gateway to Glasgow and the Scottish Highlands, sitting at the mouth of the River Clyde about 25 miles west of Glasgow city centre. From the Ocean Terminal, the train station is a short walk away and reaches Glasgow in around 35 minutes. The port is also the launching point for shore excursions to Loch Lomond (45 minutes), Stirling Castle (an hour), and the Glenfinnan Viaduct made famous by the Harry Potter films (about 3 hours by road).
