Insider Tips

Things seasoned cruisers wish they knew

Wi-Fi

While Wi-Fi is unlimited, speeds vary by location and satellite conditions. Remote itineraries (Antarctica, Arctic) may have degraded performance.

All Drinks

Rare and ultra-premium wines from the Sommelier's Selections list carry a surcharge. The connoisseur wine list is separate from the complimentary offerings.

Gratuities

Spa and salon services carry an automatic 18% gratuity that is NOT covered by the included gratuities. This is charged on top of treatment prices.

Room Service

During peak hours or in-port days, delivery times can be significantly longer than usual.

Specialty Dining

The Grill by Thomas Keller is extremely popular and has very limited seating. Reservations open on embarkation day and fill almost immediately for the full voyage.

Booking

Shore excursions are NOT included in the fare. Despite Seabourn's all-inclusive positioning, all tours and excursions are an additional cost.

Booking

Spa and salon services are a significant extra expense, with an 18% auto-gratuity added on top. A single massage can exceed $300 with the service charge.

Cancellation

Cancellation within 45 days of sailing forfeits 100% of the cruise fare. The penalty escalates from 15% at 120 days to 75% at 60 days before departure.

General

Seabourn ships are small (450-600 guests) which means fewer onboard amenities and entertainment options compared to larger luxury ships. No casino onboard.
